UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5500.
Needs some work still.
“The year is 1948. The war is over and back at home Willys has found a use for the much loved war jeep in rural America. This is that jeep and it is particularly unique in that is has its spare mounted on the left “a lefty” and has a PTO with the full hydraulic lift attachment for a 3 point farming hitch in surprisingly good condition. The original engine has been converted to 12volt and runs extremely well. The transmission works both in 2 and 4wd. There is also a working heater.
Since I acquired the jeep, I’ve rebuilt the gaskets on the front and rear differentials, replaced the 12v battery, starter solenoid, 12v Power lines, replaced all the wheel cylinders and brake shoes, replaced the steering bell crank, the gas fuel gauge, and all the front brake hoses and metal lines. I have purchased but haven’t installed a new master brake cylinder, rear brake lines, new drums, and all new brake hardware for all four wheels. I’ve also purchased the service manuals and various correct tools such as the spindle nut for the front and the hub puller for the rear.
My son and I started the project together last year but he’s off to college and it’s time for someone else to take over. Originally, we were going to remake it to be a Jeep MB look-a-like but it’s in such great original condition (e.g. working windshield wipers, PTO, horn) that we couldn’t bear to tear it apart. It runs well right now and is a great project if you don’t want to start with a rusted out hull. The jeep is currently insured with Haggerty Insurance and has a valid title in the State of Oregon (VIN # used is engine serial number).”
This should bring more if it has the lift plus PTO gearbox on the rear. Without pictures of the lift, with just hints at what might be in front of that tailgate, leads me to wonder what it really there. Also, I could be blind but I dont see a hydraulic pump under the hood.
There is real value here. Look at the pix on C.L. Those floor panels are exceptional, you can even see that old unused MB exhaust mounting point indented on the right side. We don’t see the front pump, but most of the Monroe setup is shown otherwise. And a “LEFTY” to boot with lots rebuilt and extra parts. You guys out West get all the breaks.
