“I have for sale, a 1953 Willys Jeep CJ-3b. It has a great running F-Head 134 with new head gasket, water pump, Solex carb, mechanical fuel pump, hoses, distributor, plugs, wires, oil and filter cleaning, I also have a electric fuel pump wired inline on the fuel hose. Could use a tappet adjustment and I will do that, once the weather warms a bit. It has been rebuilt by the prior owner and has only a few miles on the 30 over motor. Starts and runs strong. New Interstate battery and cables.
The frame on this 3b is in great shape with no rust, just some small surface stuff. The clutch and brakes are fine and work as they should. Pedals are were they are supposed to be . Brakes also have been recently done, with new wheel cylinders, shoes and lines. Hood, fenders and grill are not rusted at all and are in great shape. Half cab is very nice and not rusted out. Windshield frame is real solid and not rusted. I have new in box, wiring harness, windshield seals, both windshield and bottom of cowl.
The suspension is very straight and is not junk. What this 3b could use is a new tub or rebuild of this tub. Floors are rusted through. Its a pretty solid tub, but needs work. So if you purchased a new tub for aprox. 2500, you could finish a complete restoration after just cleaning and painting the frame and axles, install new tub and have a great running and straight Willys cj3b. I have used this around the farm this winter with the little plow on it, but plow and winch not going with it. Axles are nice and straight and not leaking anything.
This was well taken care of. Dana 41 rear and 27 front axles. Good steering as well. Come and get it. I just have too many Jeeps right now and I just bought another, so one has to go. This was a planned restoration and sale of over 15K. It has 1961 running gear. $4000.00 takes it and you can drive it on the trailer. No electrical right now other than a starting system. Starts right up and runs good. Could use a new starter, but works for now.
The transmission is the T-90 and the transfer case is a D18 with twin sticks and both shift nice and smooth with no issues. Just a real nice mechanical condition jeep waiting for a good person to restore it. I think the gear ratio is 538’s but not 100 % sure on that. I have a used windshield that will go with it, I also am including the new 6 gallon boat fuel tank. The original fuel tank was rusty and thrown out. New wiring harness alone is $400 and included.
Come drive it around the farm and look at it, you see how nice it really is for the money. located in western Mass. in Chester 01011. No shipping, but will help you the best I can. Local delivery possible, but not across the state, unless you want to pay $1.00 per miles, round trip. Thanks for looking and this is a great little jeep.”
Love the half cab
Poor jeep. It’s very rusty and priced high with a few missing parts. Wonder if there are doors with the cab.
I know this jeep and it’s actually not a bad little jeep. While the tub is rusty the front sheet metal and windshield frame are in very nice condition, they have been well preserved under the 12 coats of paint some brushed on. The tub at this point is still salvageable with the worst rust being the floor pan, which could use the whole replacement panel. The drivetrain and frame of this jeep are in nice condition. The engine in it has been rebuilt. Despite the plow front frame forms are in good shape.
