UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
Doug forwarded this unusual wagon build.
” 48 Willys Overland Jeep Station Wagon Ratrod! We built a new complete new frame, Chopped the top 8″, narrowed the body 2 1/2″, Lowered the windshield 4″, added a sbc 350 w/ 350 auto trans, dual rear end, 16.5″ wheels and power brakes all out of a 1988 Chevy one ton box van, we scrapped the computer & throttle body and changed the intake and added a Edelbrock quadra-jet carb, turned a set of block huger headers upside down, used a 1952 Chevy front axle & steering box, a 1949 Ford steering Wheel & column, added new front disc brakes/calipers & pads, the fuel tank is a 7.5 gal beer keg, new electric fuel pump, several antique crosscut saws were used for a Sun Visor and “Mohawk”, we used a bunch of old car tags to patch holes, make new door bottoms and cover the firewall, the mirrors are off a Peterbuilt, the door handles are double barrel shotgun barrels (they are hinged and ARE used to unlatch the door), clear coated the body and put in a new windshield. The original gauges are in place but are not connected. Very fun to drive! The new bias front tires need to be balanced, they have a little hop at 45 and then at 75. I’ve driven it 75 to 80 mph on the highway. It steers and handles well. Very Unique! Sold with tag receipt and notarized bill of sale only. Alabama did not issue tags on vehicles built before 1975. Most states will issue you a title with these documents.”
Now I’ll never unsee this!
That is an awful thing to do to a Willys Station Wagon!!
Awesome if you like the ratrod scene
I don’t think narrowing the body 2.5 inches made much of a difference for the work that would have been involved…
Oh my god! Beer and tools don’t mix!
just bought this 48!!
