I noticed there’s a zip code after the address on the manufacturer’s label. Zip codes came into usage in 1963 so it can’t be earlier than that. I wonder what the backstory is on a MIB top that was never installed.
I wonder if that is a crease in the door or just something on the photo. It is very nice top, but I would hate to pay 2K, then try to have the door repaired and painted.

All the Koening top doors have a bend in them on the bottom to match the tub. So i would say this is the same. Its made that way.
Mark S I believe you are correct on the crease. There also is a dent by the crease. Was able to view this on a 6’x5′ screen. Maybe that is why it is still new in the box… shipping damaged… 🙂

Cool to see one in the box, but $2,000 is a lot of money for it.
