UPDATE: Still Available.

(01/09/2016) This appears to have a reproduction body.

“I am selling my 1947 Willys CJ-2A.
No longer has its original 4 cylinder engine, but has been updated to a V6 for increased top speed, horsepower, and reliability.
Has adjustable/sliding front seats, and also has a CJ-3a windshield (the added leg room and head room make this much more enjoyable to drive as I am 6’4”).
Has been garaged kept. 3 speed manual transmission. Over Drive. 4 wheel drive. New radiator. Extra Rear seat is a very nice adition.
Turns heads everywhere I go.
Comes with black bikini top, Full Soft Top and Door (~$700 value itself), front tow bar and tow lights.
Keep in mind, this vehicle is nearly 70 years old, so it does have some minor cosmetic bumps and bruises, I like to think of them as added “character.” I’m Getting married, so this baby unfortunately has to go. ”

Dave, why are you thinking repop and not M-38? With the glove box, wide side fuel filler, and removeable gauge cluster on the dash I would think military (of course I do tend to think military anyway πŸ˜‰ )

From what I see there’s no folding grill and no cowl battery box, and willys stamped on the hood. The floor doesn’t show enough removable access plates to be M-38. Front of the frame isn’t boxed either. I’d agree with Dave

I dunno, Frank. I can’t see the front well enough to see the grill isn’t hinged (but you’re probably right), nor if the cowl battery access is there with that bright white paint. The Willys on the hood doesn’t look stamped to me; merely painted on… and that tailgate looks reinforced for the spare tire (M-38 style).
I didn’t know about the boxed frame distinction, although the front of this frame looks new/redone. I guess I’m hung up on that LARGE mouth opening for the fuel filler still. Thanks.

The owner does state that it’s a CJ-2A with a 3A windshield and with that and everything else I think it’s an after market body. Too far for me to go in person to check. I do own 2 52 M-38 CDN that I’m working on.

Joe, as Frank points out, it doesn’t have a battery box lid. That’s the big key. If it had the battery box lid, then it would be most likely an M-38 body.
