UPDATE: Price dropped to $11,500
“Here may be the best authentic original patina operating military jeep you may ever find! 1943 Ford GPW. Always garaged. Not many chances like this come up to own a piece of ww2 history with matching body and frame numbers. Purchased from the original post military owner. This is not a jeep that you would restore as its value is in the current RUST FREE patinaed ” worn look as if it came from a time warp” condition, parade quality that gets the attention plus safe to drives as it has seat belts and roll bar. Recent complete break overhaul but may need a new head gasket as tends to run warm sometimes. ”
I would have to disagree not original with all the mods. To bad it has been modified as it would be probably be worth his price if not they had not added the seat belts, roll bar, off road rims/tires, front monster winch/bumper? Who knows what else. Would take some time and $$$ money to bring back to WW II condition. Very sad, people don’t understand you don’t mess with or modify original jeeps…..
That seller’s write-up is indeed overly optimistic. A 60 second internet search would reveal it’s nowhere near the “best authentic original patina operating military jeep you may ever find”.
It wouldn’t take but a couple hours to remove the modifications. It’s a bit overpriced but for someone who wants a matching numbers complete GPW, this is pretty neat. And it drives!
