UPDATE: Still Available.
(11/22/2015) Runs.
“Rare 1963 FC Jeep Cab Over with 6 cylinder Flat Head Hurricane. Pennsylvania Barn Find. Yes, it runs. All original parts! Used on family farms in Dorrance Township, PA and Hollenback Township, PA for last 20+ years. Used as a sawmill truck near Red Rock, Pa before that. Original paint is blue. It appears that sawmill operator painted it red. Recent owner (farm family), brush painted it white.”
Always cracks me up when somebody BRUSH PAINTS a vehicle, how could it possibly look any better? LATEX PAINT NO DOUBT. DAHH
Looks like it was a fire truck maybe at some point with that bumper on it?
Growing up we painted farm trucks with a broom to get it on quick. Done to stop surface rust and UV damage to original paint. They werent ever going to be in a beauty contest and as soon as the paint dried it was back in use. Chosen color was what ever was left over from last paint job, house or tractor. Tractors got much more care when repainted than the trucks. However, over the years, the thick brush or broom paint job did a good job of preserving the truck, a couple of which were eventually recovered from the graveyard and restored. Wouldnt surprise me if that might have occurred here.
Never heard of the “broom” method. Learn something knew every day!
