UPDATE: Craig found a video about this auction.
This was auctioned off on Saturday, November 7th. It has some interesting modifications. The jeep was owned and auctioned by the city of Tulsa.

Civil Defense, maybe?
Definitely interesting… side fuel fill doesn’t look original or I’d suspect very early CJ-2A.
Very cool. Maybe a GPW, based on the radiator cross member and shock mounts?
Very interesting vehicle, I am surprised they held on to it for so long, not many left in municipal possession. I think the side fuel inlet is to facilitate the bench seat.
Has combat wheels. More than likely, a WWII GPW that some one added the CJ fuel filler housing. Drop down fuel tank well says it’s WWII also.
I e-mailed the auction company and they replied back that the jeep sold for 5K
I feel that was a good buy.and it looks like it is in good hands.
The modifications appear to have been done quite well, I think I would touch up the paint and keep it like it is. I did notice A USAF stencil on the olive drab, under the hood. I wonder if this may have been an airport crash vehicle .
The new owner is on g503. The Jeep was used at the Douglas Aircraft company.
Thanks for the info Keith, that jeep really intrigues me, I will go to the “G” and check it out.
I’m late to the party but this jeep reminds me of the Keystone Kops paddy wagon! I can see it noe 5 guys in the front and 5 guys in the rear pushing and pulling the truck trying to clear the railroad tracks while the locomotive in barreling down upon them!! What will happen? Was there a crash? Tune in next week, same time and same channel to find out what really happens!
