What is shown is not the complete unit. The early Auburn Jeep-A-Trench units had the big wheel to lift the boom. Later they developed a hydraulic lift called Gear -Draulic or something like that. There’s many PTO parts missing, a creep gear, a governor and lots more. Those pointed diggers are a seldom seen option.

The diggers are called “pent-a-bits”, used primarily for rocky soil and frozen, hard ground. Like Glenn said pretty rare to see one with these attached. I ordered a new chain and drive sprockets for mine this past summer from “Ballantine Machine” out of Minnesota. They still used the original part numbers from the late ’40s. Certainly a steep price for this setup, even if it still had a jeep attached to it.

I have a Auburn jeep-A-Trench on a 1970 cj-5 jeep. I think “70 was the last year they were made, because in “71 AMC did away with the pto option. My boom is hydraulic , it does not have the big wheel. You don’t see many of these. It will be interesting to see how much this goes for. I was shocked to see what they are asking.
