UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3800.
Runs and drives.
“This rig runs, drives, stops, shifts (3 speed manual) and is easy to change from high to low range. It has all new wiring and some new electrical parts and gauges. It has a new gas tank and electric fuel pump installed and has been converted to 12 volts. The original 134 cubic inch four cylinder F head motor does not smoke or leak. It has a functioning PTO winch and the stamped “Willys” hood and tailgate. Glass in windshield is good. Comes with a canvas top, doors, and a rear seat frame.
I just paid the money and applied for a valid Texas title. It’s lived most of its life on hunting property and ranches and the previous owner never put the title in his name. It cost me but I made it right.
The body is rough as a cob. May be a candidate for a tub replacement if your aim is perfection, but I’ve seen worse repaired by men handy with a mig welder. The frame is solid. Lots of slop in the steering that can be repaired with a $80 kit. The lights and some of the gauges are not connected and the emergency brake does not work. The speedo is there but no cable to tranny.
The jeep is not registered for the road and you can’t drive it home. You will need to arrange for transport. Uhaul will rent you a trailer for $100. This is not a daily driver built for the highway. This is a 60 year old vintage jeep, top speed 50 mph downhill with a tailwind. I consider this an antique project jeep that needs finishing and it is priced accordingly. Do a search on craigslist and you’ll see this is a good deal. I have other projects that I want to focus on and need to make room. I will consider trades for cool, old running/titled motorcycles, nothing Chinese.”
