UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7000.
(08/23/2015) Looks solid.
“1946 Willys Jeep CJ-2A
-New ww2 army green semi-gloss 2-stage paint (painted 2 months ago with a low gloss clear coat), and white vinyl decals.
-Brake system completely overhauled with new brake cylinders, pads, 1 new drum the others were pulled and turned, and brake light switch. The lines were recently replaced with steel lines.
-Mostly new wiring, with new 6v head lights, tail lights and battery.
-Engine starts and runs great. Fires up first time and runs very smooth. It has new plug wires, crankcase vent filter, thermostat, air filter, and coolant pressure cap. Oil pressure stays steady. Does not overheat. All new fluids (engine oil, transmission, differentials, brake, coolant). The engine is the L-134 Go-Devil 4 cylinder, 1 barrel carb. These engines are known to run forever. Runs on regular unleaded pump gas.
-New tubes and military tires.
-New khaki color outdoor material seat cushions and seat frames.
-New oil pressure gauge, water temperature gauge, shifter boots, new sheet metal floor bed and mostly new sheet metal body with new plexiglas windshield.
-Original 6v system has no problems. Starter rebuilt.
-New speedometer cable. Both speedometer and odometer work. The fuel gauge and ammeter are original but are not connected.
-Four wheel drive system works great. 3-speed transmission shifts very smooth with no grinding. New rear shocks.
-Engine needs cosmetically detailed. The body is very solid, no rust. Finish is in good condition, not perfect.
Fun to ride and draws lots of attention. Since its completion, I have put over 300 miles on it in the last month with no problems.”
…or you can just make that fuel can, its bracket, and the rear seat out of plywood, right?!
Interested in this jeep for the Honor Guard at our American Legion Post. I am in Ripley, WV about 10 minutes from the Ohio border. Would like to come and look at the jeep and perhaps make the purchase. I have CASH. Email me or call 304-372-6862.
Thanks
Eric
Hi Eric,
It looks like it sold. I’ve updated the post. If you don’t mind an M-38A1, this is in good shape and not far:
