UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3495
(08/17/2015) It’s worth a look.
“This is an incredibly solid, original 1960 Willys Wagon 2 door Maverick Edition. It has been extremely well taken care of over the years and drives amazing given its original status. The “Super Hurricane” flathead straight-six engine starts and runs like a top. The whole drive train is solid, it has a manual 3 speed transmission with an overdrive also referred to as a “brownie” gear. 4 wheel drive shifts and works good too. Has no problem starting or getting around, even during winter.
Some of the most recent work that has been done includes a new clutch, new gas tank, new brake lines, new windshield and new tires. The front end was recently gone through replacing several worn parts including tire rods etc. This thing can, and sometimes does handle daily driving! The seats have just been reupholstered maroon and white and the interior looks pretty good having not been restored. The odometer is sitting just over 85,400, and I am pretty sure that is original based on what we know about the jeep and its condition. The body and frame are extremely straight and solid, there is some rust in the usual places, but it is pretty minimal in comparison to other wagons of the same age.
I am listing the Wagon as a favor to a friend, he has owned it for many years and he has taken very good care of it. He can often be seen driving around Preston in it. He is a little sad to sell the Wagon, because of how unique it its and how much he loves old Willys, but he has decided to focus his money on his other Willys project instead of keeping them both.
This wagon would make a great platform for a full restoration, especially with how unique it is, but even without restoration it is a really cool, reliable and solid original driver. Come take a look, you will be very impressed with how well this thing runs, drives and looks for a 55 year old vehicle! Looking to sell ASAP! I do have access to a truck and car hauler, so delivery could possibly be arranged for additional cost. $3495 OBO! I return text messages the fastest because of my strange schedule but I will return calls and emails as best I can!”
If this wagon is still available, I will fly out there next week to pick it up.
