I tried to call the number in the ad but it is not a working number. Email has not received a response yet. Would like to get S/N and better details.
Colin and I have been studying this DJ3A (From Maine to Phoenix) and discussing it with its owner. This may very well be the last DJ3A assembled. I’ll not reveal the S/N here, but we have verified it to be the highest number we have recorded and built sometime in January of 1965. Supposedly the end of DJ3A production was 8202-24641 in December of 1964, but we have recorded vehicles with S/N’s about 40 higher, possibly special built with parts laying around the factory. One similar feature seems to be cane shift transmissions and automatics also. DJ5’s started production sometime in January ’65 and these DJ3A units may have been built during the transition. This is a significant vehicle, very buildable, and hopefully someone will grab it. We are very interested in following it’s path from here. Stay Tuned.
