UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was on ebay.
Looks right for someone.
“1948 Willys 1-Ton Truck. This is a real nice Willys Truck. It starts and runs fine. Engine sounds good. It is real eye candy to people that know old Willys and trucks. I purchased 15 months ago and have only replaced some fuel and radiator hose. Prior work done by previous owner. No service records available. I understand the engine is not original but is the military L-head (?). See picture.
Don’t know the quality of the body work repairs over time, but it looks nice. Bed steel is solid with welded steel slats (to replace rusted areas). There is evidence of rust under cab and rocker panels that has been repaired. There is no visible rust.
The original instrument cluster including the odometer is not hooked up. See picture where a 3-guage cluster is installed and operational. The original horn button is not hooked up. See picture of a separate horn button on steering column. No rear view mirror. Ash trays and other similar items are not there. New wheels and tires.
New battery. Electrical is mostly original harness. Brake, tail, turn signal, headlight all work.
Starts easily and sounds fine. All transmission ranges work and overdrive unit was added before I purchased it. There are Warn lockouts on front axel. Paint is not glossy but appears to be recent.
This is not a 55 mph highway cruiser; more like 45 mph in overdrive. Its a heavy truck with a small engine and very low gearing. It will climb a tree in low range. Send any additional questions. Thank you.”
Very interested in your truck. What are you asking for it?
Hi Shane,
This was on eBay, but the ad has been taken down completely. I don’t know if the seller sold it outside of eBay or eBay took the ad down for some policy violation. Thus, I can’t tell you if this sold or not. I’ve updated the post. Should I see it listed on eBay or craigslist again, I will drop you a note.
