UPDATE: Price dropped to $10,000.
(04/29/2015) Another militarized jeep for to day. This one is a CJ-3A.
“1952 Willy’s jeep with 18298 original miles. Body off restoration. Clean title. Drive train, engine, and transfer case original with matching numbers. Completely restored. All documentation of restoration to include pictures and receipts. New wiring, seat covers, shocks, radiator, tires, gas tank and fuel lines, new brake lines and cylinders – many other items.”
Very nice looking restoration. I think the only thing “militarized” here is the paint job… no body handles, no fuel can nor spare tire holders on the tailgate, no bumperettes or white stars… just a really nice looking OD green CJ2A (with half-masked headlights?). BTW, that’s an interesting rear bumper… would that hole have been for a PTO shaft?
That’s the rear frame cross member. The draw bar attached to it and yes, that hole is where the pto input shaft goes through. The carb was even painted. Drain holes have been filled. You’re right joe, not quite militarized besides the paint.
Militarized? That’s like me putting on boots and saying I’m in the army. This is a nice 3a though. The wheels are ’60’s. It would look good with a drawbar. Replacement shackles on rear. Rectangular mirror looks odd. Wonder where his ID tag went? Needs those drain holes. The paint looks done well…
You are so right Todd. One of the first things I look for are the drain holes. w
When they are absent it calls in to question the quality of the rest of the Jeep. And to ask top dollar for one where they have covered the drain openings is a bit optimistic I think.
