“Last chance….one day only May 23rd before I load it to tow out of Texas…
Dropping price for quick sale….this project is 70-80% complete. I am prepared to move it out of state, but will sell to a serious buyer who wants a cool old Willys that can be used as a toy not a parade prop.
Serious buyers only. Cash is king. Most recent photos first
1947 CJ2A, I bought this after two owners tore it down and did a little work…literally a basket case. I want to finish it, but will be moving out of state.. I don’t have to sell it, but might for the right price and a good home. Otherwise I will just tow it when I move.
Just finished some repairs to the under side of the tub and coated it in Chassis Saver over the weekend (see photo of tub upside down and coated black..3rd phot from the end). So the price has been bumped up. May get the tub back on the frame soon and then get the inside of tub and exterior ready for Monstaliner.
Serious emails will receive a reply or telephone call. It is a big project….but not much left to do.
At some point it got an F head installed I pulled it home took a lot of photos then stripped the body off. In my opinion the body isn’t good enough for a restoration, I have started some body repairs. I sanded the tub down to bare metal. I have slowly been making enough repairs to eventually allow for a decent bed liner application. The hood, windshield frame and tailgate ( all stamped Willys) are in good shape. Front floor pans were replaced…firmly welDed by someone but ugly…Did some grinding and welding to clean up the welds before under coating it this past weekend. My plan was to prep and paint the Willys stamped parts and not use Bed liner so the parts aren’t ruined. My plan was to put it back together with the F head, T-90, and T-18 just to get it back in service. I already have a 1985 Chevy v-6, needs rebuilt, for phase 2 of my plan included if you want it.
I have a stack of receipts already I can provide and photos of the progress. The F Head was free moving and looked good inside…so I stripped it down, prepped and painted Ford blue. New gaskets have been used, new water pump, new thermostat, new plugs, wires, exhaust/intake adjusted. The frame was powder coated by previous owner..after some boxing was done. The frame looks good, but isn’t perfect…dents, dings, etc were just left and powder coated. The axles have all new seals. new brake lines, master cylinder, new shackles, new shocks, new 31×9.5 TSL super swampers…only miles were towing it home…about 80 miles.
The wheels really need to be stripped and powder coated or painted. T-90 has a little age on a rebuild ( I found the old parts in a bag and when I pulled the shift tower very little wear was found. I have a new shift tower because the old one just isn’t smooth/free anymore. It has the 12v conversion. The starter says it was rebuilt. Have an Alternator but may need brackets to install. E-brake works and I think I have orders all the parts to run from lever to cable, to dash to handle. I think all the gauges are here and the dash hasn’t been cut up. It will need a whole wiring harness. Unsure if the distributor is good, I was going to replace. carb is beat up missing and broken pieces…I was going to replace it. Gas tank is new, but will need to be cleaned out before use. No fuel lines, but new fuel pump installed.
Exhaust is newer, installed and wrapped pipe and muffler in heat wrap to keep some heat out of tub/firewall. I have a lot of new parts, pieces, gaskets and a ton of old parts in boxes from precious owners…extra drive shafts, shackles, spare tire carrier, gas can/and holder(missing part of can strap I think). Lots of manuals, receipts and notes from previous owner and I have been adding. It does have a tow bar, old, heavy steel but I replaced hitch parts for ease of use. New Driver seat frame. No passenger seat frame. No tool box/bin. Have spare wheel with old rubber but good tread. Random parts like seat belts, part of a vinyl top I think, turn signal controls, horn parts, lots of cans full of screws, bolts, washers, nuts. So yes, still a basket case as I slowly put it together. The price may go up or be less negotiable as I keep working. Next step…prep under side of tub, coat in chassis saver and then cover in black bed liner and mount tub…it will have a small body lift in order to clear f head. I have stack of receipts, parts, Monstaliner, etc that all go with it.
