UPDATE: Was $2500. **SOLD**
“Up for sale is this very rare, early, 1942 Willys MB.
It is a true “WILLYS” script jeep.
Has clear Texas title
Data plate on glove box and frame number match. 160240 Production date 7/20/42
Engine is stamped GPW-2766. It also has an “F” script head.
Engine has all major components and spins freely.
All drive train and suspension components present.
Comes with original windshield frame, drivers seat frame and steering wheel.
I also have a set of 4 combat rims included with this jeep.
As you can see it also has the “ram horn” style tow hooks and the period correct U.S.M.C. stenciling on drivers side of tub. These two items can not absolutely confirm but chances are better than average that this was indeed a Marine Corps jeep.”
I called the seller an was able to make a deal……thanks Dave!
Congrats Andy.
From what I see in these pics that was a good deal. If this were around here the price would be at least double that.
Just what I was looking for, as a Marine myself , the possibility it being used by the Corps would have been sweet. I would have jumped at that price. Keep searching.
Congrats Andy!
Definitely looks like a great deal! The frame in the front looks nice, has the Willys tag as well.Ford block and head are icing on a sweet deal.
I saw this in person about 2 months ago. It’s a great project. It wasn’t for sale at the time. I’m a Marine and would have snatched it up. The 1st 2 digits are visible under the side handle. Congrats
Nice early Ford engine. Probably late February to early March of 42.
