UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3900.
(04/29/2015) Doesn’t run. (running when turned off is a new version of running when parked 🙂 )
“1942 World War II Ford Jeep
Original
Has all running gear.
Has original folding brace for canvas top.
Was running when turned off.
Has been parked for approx 3 years..
Not running now.
No pink slip.”
Whole lotta challenges here… missing orig oil bath filter and voltage regulator under the hood, just to name 2. Front tire looks oddly larger than the rear, although all 4 would be replaced in a restoration. But mostly that crushed-in front bumper detroyed the frame horns and likely tweaked the frame.
I’d say cut that asking price in half: twice!
Has Willys round toolbox lock, also has power distribution box under passenger seat. Looks like a 45′ composite body ford to me.
Too bad the front is ruined….
“Was running when turned off” …dang funny!
Has a lot of parts like seats, grab handles, top brackets that are usually missing. the floor boards look decent. if the engine and trans are original it might not be too bad a price. these things are getting hard to find that arent stripped or cut up or modified
Probably ought to be “Was running just before it was turned off.”
Or maybe it kept running after it was turned off.
Could have had the radio junction box under the seat added during its service life, but indeed, the round tool box locks points to a composite body.
Looks like the hood was cut for a snorkel.
Has lots of hard to find parts, too.

Between the wheels (look to be combats), transmission, and seats, let alone if the engine is WWII, or even better a GPW, this could easily be worth the asking price. To source all of those parts, if you could even find them all in original condition, you’d likely pay the same amount, if not more (with shipping/transportation costs, that is).
I agree,a few things wrong, and a few unknown items, but not bad shape at all and a lot of parts are present.Price is not that far off depending on the engine and closer inspection.A lot more GPW here than what I am starting with.:)
As Andy said, doesn’t look like a 42 body. Its either a later Ford or an MB body.
I looked at this last night. Stay away! The guy bought it and is flipping it. Frame is bent badly on the drivers side behind the engine mount. He removed the top bow hardware and the rear seat. Engine spins like it does not have Pistons in it.

Thanks Jay!
