Jeep has a fiberglass tub, but includes a rear PTO. a PTO powered mower, and a plow. The jeep runs, too.
“1953 Willys CJ3A jeep, original motor and running gear, fiberglass tub and fenders, steel hood and windshield frame, runs and goes but not on road, has been used as a yard buggy to plow driveway and mow fields. Comes with 6.5ft plow and 5ft finish mower which is powered by pto on jeep. Asking $3000 not interested in trades”
Nice job fabbing that mower up to the jeep…
It’s a shame they didn’t prep/sand/prime the rear cargo area better… that peeling blue paint takes away from an otherwise solid looking jeep. Still pretty nice though: I’d love to mow a lawn with her (if I still had a lawn!)
Wait: “53” CJ3A? I thought 53 was CJ3B and CJ5 introduction… prob not many of these that year.
That’s right Joe, somewhere around 10k in ’53, give or take. Smallest production run for the 3a, too. I suppose down there in Mesa, your yards are mostly decorative stones…
True, Todd. My yard is all stones, gravel, dirt, and a cement pond for the wife 🙂
That commercial where the guy rigs up a flame thrower to kill the weeds is no joke here. I have 2 adjoining neighbors who do that using a propane tank and asphalt/tar heating wand 😉
$3000? Fiberglass tub and fenders, no title, not road worthy… it is cool to be able to mow with your jeep though.
Joe, I can’t imagine not having grass.
Nice job on the lengthened or extended if you will output shaft to work with the mower . I like it!
I alway thought you could use a three point mower by just dragging it!
You can with this one Bob. It has great guide wheels…I have a 6′ mower, it’s a rototiller without them! Ted, that’s an adapter from one style of splines to another. I had one for an older tractor…picked it up at a tractor supply store.
It actually has an overrun clutch on the pto gearbox, that is so when you push in on the jeep clutch with the mower engaged the mower centrifugal energy doesn’t try to push the jeep even with the jeep clutch disengaged. You need this with a non live pto.
