Straight from our Jakarta bureau comes this video about a ‘Jiffy jeep’ team that could use a little more practice. However, what they lack in speed, they make up for in enthusiasm. The event was part of the Parjo 2015. If you are up on your Indonesian language skills, then you can read the story in full.
If you’ve never seen a Jiffy Jeep quickly disassembled and reassembled, then you’ll enjoy this link: http://www.ewillys.com/tag/quick-disassemble/
Not to be mean, but this video would be watched best with the sound muted. The jeep just doesn’t look right with an automatic transmission. It would have been cooler to see see original engine and drive train used.
Perhaps I missed it, but how did they avoid having to bleed the brakes?
These type of jeeps are specially constructed for this type of competition. They could use a radio controlled transfer case brake or maybe a special tranny brake. After all, these vehicles don’t go very fast.
Is it me (and I don’t mean any disrespect here) or does the dialogue sound exactly like the “minions” speaking in Despicable Me movies?
Joe, you made me watch it again and you’re right. They look taller though
They really should have worn yellow shirts… and vintage welding goggles.
OK: that was too far… sorry, Dave!
