Looks like there is a compression dent/damage near the driver’s entrance.

Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
There are plenty of interesting, unusual, historic and surprising stories related to Jeeps and their owners. In addition, some of these features have nothing to do with jeeps. This link will display all featured stories starting from the latest.
Looking for parts and not sure where to go? There are a variety of large and small new and used parts sellers both online and offline.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

Weird location for the exhaust tail pipe. Had a civilian spare tire mounted on side at one time. That damage is interesting on driver’s side
The wacky part of this jeep is it one of very few that still have all the necessary brackets etc. for the pioneer kit but is missing all sorts of other parts. all and all it’s over priced. As for the damage on drivers side I’d guess someone just put a patch panel overtop the rusted side and didn’t do a good job of it.
I question if this is on a civilian frame as the front does not have the typical rounded support under the radiator. There is also no cut out for the fording snorkel on the hood. The rear also has a civilian style hitch. I also do not see the corner reinforcements on the rear quarter that are common with the M38. Last it’s missing the rear reflectors on both sides. Probably a wolf in sheeps clothing. I would be interested to know what’s under the hood.
The odd look of the front is likely due to the heavy modifications it has undergone. I wouldn’t be surprised if that frame had a V8 or other longer motor at some point (which led to the removal of the front cross member). The hood could just be an aftermarket hood, so who knows what that is from.
However, it’s the rear PTO drawbar that leads me to agree with Dan. It is really rare to see the drawbars added to any jeep that didn’t come with them from the factory.
