A really beautiful paint job on this Willys, high gloss clear coat wet sanded and buffed out. But in my critical opinion, (OH NO HERE IT COMES) too shiny for a Jeep.
I agree, willys didn’t come from the factory with shiny clear coat paint. I like seeing the spot welds and slight imperfections you usually get. Nice jeep but over done and it’s all new body parts too
Yup, Spot welds and slight imperfections add “Character”. When I”m doing body work on my Jeeps, I actually try to recreate The Factory imperfections. To me, this is truly restoration. New body tubs just look too good to be true.
I just want to add that while it isn’t a perfect factory restoration, it is a well done build that I think is worth the price (assuming it runs and drives as good as it looks). As far as I know I don’t know the seller, but can believe the seller is losing money on the sale.
Sure Dave, it is well done, but let me ask this Question once again; Why spend all that money, just to loose all that money. Doesn’t make “CENTS”. Too many guys enter this market thinking they’re going to make big bucks. Defies logic. I rest my case.
I agree Mike. This jeep would work really well as a parade jeep or a “civilian reenactment” or someone that wants a really nice show jeep. Hard to appeal to the hardcore original jeep market with all new body and not original tins. It does look good but at a price
Minnesota Chris, GREAT MINDS think alike; glad I’m not the only one. AS they say; “YOU’RE RIGHT ON THE MONEY”.
I don’t disagree with any of your points (rather I appreciate them!). And I’m not advocating someone not negotiate on the price. And, someone shouldn’t buy this as an investment. But, most people couldn’t build this jeep for this price. I’ve also seen other builds of similar quality sell in this ballpark. That’s just my 2 cents (not that pennies are worth all that much anymore). 🙂
Yup. Ditto. And I swear that’s a 1971 cj5 renegade 1 roll bar in there. It’s shiny too.
