UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $27,000
What you are about to see is a rare 1962, Willy’s Utility Wagon. This is an original survivor and was the very first one off the production line in 1962. It has the original engine, frame, and body with matching numbers. Its teal blue paint mimics its original factory paint color. The exterior and interior is all real wood which is Koa and red oak trim. It has a Hurricane 226 motor that purrs like a kitten. This unique Willy’s Wagon is a four wheel drive with a high and low in good working condition. It also is a manual three speed transmission on the floor in good working condition. We believe this was either an ambulance or city, county, or state work vehicle because of the original light on the roof. All electrical is working and we have reached over 70mph with it for highway driving (but its not recommended due to the speed limits back then were 55mph). This is truly a rare unique piece of history because there is only a handful of original survivors left in the world and being #1 off the production line.
***This vehicle is also being sold locally & auction can end at any time***

Thanks!

Jeez! This wagon is freaky nice. I wished I surfed…
Has anybody noticed how many of these High priced Willys vehicles don’t sell, or am I the only one in touch with reality? Month after month, year after year, lets get real folks, the market just isn’t there.
Yeah, Mike you are right. Although the high end Porsche/Ferrari/American muscle cars are hot, in my opinion the everyday cars face a classic supply and demand problem – limited although increasing supply on the market (as older owners pass on) and decreasing demand. I’m a huge Ford Model A buff and think I’m one of the few people under the age of 45 who would want to own one. I really think today’s “barn find” will be a “garage find” in a few years… some old car that stopped running, left in the garage, and covered with the stuff of everyday life as the owner intended to get the old car running one day but never got around to it.
Also, there is there problem that $ invested in a car does NOT equal the selling price (determined by the market). If I invested $30k in restoring a Model A, it’s still a $8k car on the market. 🙂
Your right Dan. Todays gen. is all about electronics. They don’t go out in the garage and rebuild a T-90 at age 15. The high price cars are all about impressing the Jones.
The good news it keeps our hobby afordable .
