This is a project with MD Juan body kit.

“This Jeep is a project that I started about a year ago. I recently inherited another Jeep and do not need this one. This Jeep comes with a brand new body kit with Willys script that is still in the shipping crate. It comes with new hood, tailgate, fenders and inner and outer windshield. This is a late body with all the improvements. This body kit sells for $3750.00.You are getting the frame and everything else for $250.00! The frame is finished and has all new spring mounts (8), battery tray, front bumper with gussets, rear crossmember with gussets, pedal mount and front shock mounts. This frame has no rust out. All welding is completed. You will not find a better frame anyplace. This was a complete Jeep and comes with everything that I have for it except the motor. Comes with trans, transfer case, front and rear axles and much more. This Willys has a clear Delaware title in my name. All the hard work is done. I have much more than the asking price invested. I need room for another project.”

I know this isn’t technically on topic, but does anyone know why MD Juan does not cut the pedal holes in the CJ2A bodies?

I suspect it is because the repop bodies are slightly different being made from later foreign Jeep bodies and the pedals are in different locations on some of those. Easier to just let the builder cut the necessary holes. Same goes with the CJ3A and B bodies that some of the repop guys do.

I met with the head of MD Juan, Rommel Juan, a couple years ago. His grandfather began making bodies based on the only template they had, an M-38. As the business grew people wanted to use their repro bodies for 2As, 3As, mbs, etc. So, they altered them to reflect the differences, but often they didn’t have the specs necessary to make them exact. Since Rommel took over he told me he’s been trying to improve the bodies they produce so that the different body models are more accurate. It was one reason he flew out for the Midwest Willys Reunion in 2013.

It is possible that because their bodies are used for stock and for non-stock applications, they might not be creating perfectly stock bodies. So, for example, some people what a perfectly stock 2A with all the correct floor holes, while others want to install hanging pedals and have no need for the pedal holes. It might also be the case that not drilling the holes saves money, which saves the buyer money.

Good points guys! I was kind of thinking it was more for the customizing side.
I’ve noticed some of the other bodies have the holes pre punched like the MBs and the 38s.
Rommel Juan has been making the rounds on the discussion boards about improvements in the CJ2A bodies and parts. Since I’m going to be needing a kit soon, I hope that it’s true.
I’m particularly interested in how good or bad their frames are.
    Thanks for the replies!
