Man o man, that’s a nice top. You’re right Dave, not a ’72. Front fenders say it’s ‘early ’70 or older (no side marker lights). Tailgate says ’68 or newer (big jeep script). No battery cover on cowl says ’64 and newer. No reflectors on side of hood say ’68 and older. So there we have it, it’s a ’68. This looks like a nice jeep. It’s had some body work and a respray, but if it was done well, this is a good value. If it’s as nice in person as the pics say, this is a no brainer. That top alone is half the value. Looks like someone added a rear fuel tank, I think that’s a cap above the wrong style of tailight. Thumbs up so far… wait a dang minute! O Dave, you almost got me! Upon further review, I noticed the jeep stamping on the front tub sides. That’s wrong for everything I just explained. This fella replaced the tub, then put on all his older fenders, tailgate, dash (that one is important). Jeep added the rear fuel tank in mid ’71 around April or May. That’s why he’s listing it as a ’72. The vin follows the tub. Weeeeee!
