UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8000
This looks like a nice Jeepster Commando for the price.
“1971 Jeepster Commando 83k, Buick V6, 4 speed manual, 4wd, runs, drives, stops. Not perfect, but in really good shape, drives like a Jeep should. Larger than the old CJ’s so it’s definitely more stable. White hard top, Kayline (black) soft top, hell creek suspension, 31″ tires, with brand new spare not even mounted yet, Mickey Thompson wheels, front disc brakes, spare tire carrier – included but not mounted. Black hi-back seats in front with folding seat in rear. New Battery, Alternator, Voltage Regulator, transmission mount. Not exactly a rare thing but definitely uncommon. Currently tagged as an antique.”
Hey Dave, I noticed you included this great 1971 jeepster. Normally you don’t post jeeps this new. I may be wrong and I’m hoping that I am. I really like the little short nose cj5’s, right up to the ’70 renegade1 and the ’71 renegade 2. If you’re thinking about going a little newer, you’ve just made a happy reader even happier! Thank you anyways! As you probably know, my brother and I love your site and start every morning off with you and all the great guys and gals that make up the ewillys family. I tip my hat to you and I am thankful. You can add another friend to your ever growing list up here in the panhandle of the great state of Idaho!
Oh Todd, that was nice. But very true. Remember, that awesome ren2 that resides in your shop, I found for you. That was a fun road trip down to Indiana. And the road trip out to Seattle area to get your ren1 was awesome too. We’ve been through a lot of states to get our jeeps. I think we have jeeps from 12 different states. This site is great for jeep nuts like us. I’ll also add a friend from Northern Minnesota to you Dave.
Glad you enjoy the site guys!
There are no hard and fast rules about what I include on the site. Certainly the site revolves around flat fenders since there is international interest in them and they are ever harder to find. I include FCs and other rare jeeps for similar reasons. I’ve been surprised at the interest in DJ-5s. Those sell quickly on here.
The early years of the site just happened to coincide with the crash of the economy so there was no shortage of flatties that flooded the market. I WISHED I’d had a bundle of money because I would have purchased a large number of them. The prices were incredible!
Predictably, that flood has slowed to a trickle. So, to continue generating content I expect that I will be including more 70s and early 80s jeeps as I spot deals that look good. But, my search engines aren’t set up yet to gather them and I’m also less familiar with them. So, I’ll likely trip and stumble until I figure out where the value is and isn’t.
I’ll keep doing my best to make the site interesting, educational and relevant!
