    Hi Billy,

I just checked and the Craigslist link is expired. Also, the jeep hasn’t yet been relisted on Craigslist. I suspect this is still for sale, but we’ll have to wait until the seller relists it. I’ll drop you an email if it reappears.

I purchased this as a birthday present to myself and tribute to my grandmother who as a mechanic, automotive painter, and police department domestic violence advocate, forged paths far ahead of her time. She passed away last year, and while we didn’t see eye to eye on everything, we always saw eye to eye on our jeeps!
This plum crazy purple Willy’s runs and drives with a fresh Jasper 350 matted to the original 3 speed. 4×4 works, and is impressive for 60 year old technology, and besides some much needed rust repair panels on the way, she is headed for life as a daily driver here in the Litchfield hills of CT, under the strict auspices of a very eclectic female member here on ewillys.
The end result will be a roadtrip worthy daily driver, who is as capable on the dunes of the cape, as in the parking lot of the local shoppes; way cooler than any g wagon could ever hope to be, and a ride that hopefully one day my son tells stories to his children about.

Thanks for your story! I’m sorry to hear about your grandmother passing, but it sounds like she has left you a great legacy. There are a few other eclectic females that follow eWillys and we are happy to have you around :-). Feel free to send me an update on your wagon some time (with pics!)

    Thanks,

    – Dave
