Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Original green paint Willys Jeep CJ3B to restore. Vehicle has not been on the road since the 1960’s. Previous owner installed a new International Harvester slant 4 cylinder 198 cu in to replace the original Jeep motor. Engine turns freely. No original engine included. Nice easy winter project. Bill of sale only. ”

Steve, I’d like to think that by the time I give up doing eWillys I’ll know where every town is in every state. However, rest assured my memory isn’t nearly good enough to keep track of that many, so keep any eye out for my mistakes. Thanks for the correction!

No problem, thanks for the website! I’ve been thinking about buying an old Jeep & coming across this site has been extremely helpful & educating. I’m still looking to find some place or book with more info on the details between the various CJ models.
And I would like to write that book! This website is my way of working through all that I need to know to properly create such a book. But, that book is still a ways away. There are some books on individual models that can be very helpful, but there’s no book that I know of which really plows into the detailed evolution, with all the variants included. However, I have to finish my current book and the next before tackling the project.
