UPDATE: Was $3700. **SOLD**
(08/23/2014) Looks like a solid 3B. Nice vintage hardtop.
“Runs well, engine in great condition, hard top. Parked in the barn.

I’ve owned this jeep for three years, purchased from a filmmaker/collector here locally who has several willys. I’m not sure how long he had it prior, but I got the distinct impression he’s committed to these vehicles. He has specific shops in Treadwell and Morris that he trusts to work on these (Morris is an hour away from here, which says something.)
I could not speak with certainty on the engine being original– I do know he had it machined and tuned just prior to my acquisition. The carb was also rebuilt.
The brakes seem to be in good condition. The top is in good condition minus a couple chips in the rim. All glass is in good condition (the side windows do not roll down). There is no handle on the passenger door.
The floor pans had been repaired in the past– plates added– they’re adequate but it could be prettier. There are a few rust holes. The toolbox is pretty rusty and has a few holes.
The frame looks good.
It has most certainly been repainted– I couldn’t say what the original color was.
New battery this spring. The wiring needs the turn signals and brake lights sorted out.
Runs very well and strong. Front wheel 4WD locks move well without a tool.
I deregistered it last year as I was fundamentally using it on the farm (to move firewood, and rarely) and didn’t want to pay insurance. I have the papers for easy transfer.
Quite simply, this jeep has gotten little use since I got it– housed in the barn, battery changed, rewiring started, oil changed. I’d keep it if we didn’t need to cover some unexpected expenses.”
Does this have a DJ-3A hardtop? Or, is this a DJ-3B? Because of the sliding front door and the rear hatch sliding into the roof, I might guess that this is a DJ-3B if only the side body entering the front seat were flush with the floor, although I’ve never heard of a DJ-3B, only a DJ-3A, & a DJ-5.

It looks to me like the USPS jeeps all had RHD and a Worman or Koenig top. There were six prototypes produced in 1958 for USPS. This top would have fit in with that time period. No pics have been located about those prototypes and it isn’t known if they were 2WD or 4WD or LHD/RHD. http://cj3b.info/PostalCJ3B.html
Alternatively, this top could have been a DJ dispatcher top that was modified to fit a 3B. However, who modified it isn’t clear. If you compare this photo (http://cj3b.info/Photos/Hardtops/DJ3AEnclosure62PartsList.JPG) with the top above, you can see they are very similar and that the one above is simply cut to fit the taller hood. Looks like it was well done, too.

Looks like a DJ3A top to me too. Very unusual. I wish people were required to write down somewhere what and when they did something to a jeep!
Saw this Jeep at an auction 3 or 4 years ago. It was sold ?? to a phone bidder?? Bin listed a few times since. I think it was on this site at that time.
Is this jeep still for sale?
Looks like this one finally sold.
