Old MB/GPW Rusting Away

UPDATE: JW correctly pointed out there are TWO Prince of Wales Islands in the world (perhaps more??). The jeep shown below is located on the Australian Prince of Wales Island, which sites just south of Papau New Guinea (I erroneous thought it was in laska)

This old right-hand appearing jeep was found on the Prince of Wales Island in 2013 and published at Going Strait. Not much salvageable here.

Dave, if you go on a rescue party don’t forget about the bears. Take a gun with you and make sure you’re not the slowest runner in the group. You can’t outrun a bear but you can outrun the slow guy and that’s all you need to do.

Ashes to ashes, and rust to rust.

eWillys has memorialized someones trusty old steed in this photographic obituary. These tough old beasts die slower than a cowboy’s horse in the desert. This skeleton of a Willys MB will never see spark again. Mother nature wins again.

Read the blog, I’m pretty sure that MB is located on Prince of Wales Island, Australia not Prince of Wales Island, Alaska.

Damn .. you mean there are two Princes of Wales Islands? Google might have steered me wrong there … but, yes, JW is correct. As soon as you read other parts of the blog, it is quite obvious this jeep is ‘down under’.

But, that’s just one more reason to organize a search party! I could go for some good Australian meat pies.
