Colin shared a couple photos of his rare Hickey Aluminum Heads. The February 1955 Car Craft had an article about Vic Hickey’s supercharged flathead.

This head was in our local Craigslist and on Ebay for $1,000. Last I saw it the price had been lowered to $750.00

I was able to negotiate the cost down and am very pleased with the head. Will have to do some cleanup but believe it will be a good addition to the L-134 in my 1960 DJ3A Surrey. I’m looking for a dual intake for it if any one knows of a good setup. Burns is extremely rare, Darland may mount the carbs too high for hood clearance. I understand a stock intake can be modified once removed from the exhaust manifold. The original throat can be plugged and the tube that originally flowed the fuel mixture can be machined out. The manifold is turned upside down and an adaptor plate canbe machined for a larger carb or carbs. The F-head exhaust is then used to provide a better flow than the stock L-head exhaust, no heat riser to mess with or interrupt the flow.

The Chucua head is identical to the Hickey head, it just had Chucau’s name on it. Hickey and Chucua were good friends and Hickey gave the rights to several of Hickey’s Jeep items to Chucau. The head apparently is about 8 to 1 compression ratio and may give up to about 70 horsepower on the stock engine.
