“1944 Willy’s Jeep. Body in fair condition drive train in excellent condition, runs great it does have a Chevy Iron Duke 4 cylinder engine, which is a common replacement for the flat head 4 cylinder engine that it came with and is easier to get parts. It is Titled and ready to up on the Mesa Monument or where ever you take it. This Jeep is a Military Jeep and is not geared for highway driving. Reasonable offers will be considered.”
Cool jeep but I don’t really understand the seller’s comment about “easier to get parts”. I haven’t had any trouble finding every engine part (internal and external) that I’ve needed for my L-134 engines. I typically have to use the ole “interweb”, of course and order: not too much at O’Reilly’s and less at AutoZone. Are parts for an Iron Duke engine even easier to get? Not being a smart@$$… just wondering.
I think you’ve answered your own question Joe. The later model engines likely have more part availability at O’Reilly’s and Autozone. But, I imagine even the Iron Duke isn’t so easy to find in junkyards anymore (but I haven’t looked).
