Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (08/15/2014) “1948 Willys Jeep CJ-2A. Semi-restored. Body and drive train are original. Water pump, thermometer replaced, shocks, instrument panel, rear seat cushions, master horn button repaired. (this is only a partial list. I have the invoices for items that were replaced/rebuilt). Please email me with questions. Thank you.”
I think the strange reason is it isn’t Navy. It is a nice looking CJ2A, a civilian jeep. Strange is why folks insist on making jeeps military and then not doing the basic homework like affixing the right data plates – they do all that restoration and pick-up just any plate at a yard sale and screw it on
