Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This year’s Willys America Open House will be Saturday July 19th in Cazadero, California. We won’t be there this year as we have a family event that same weekend.

This is one of my favorite weekends of the year…
This is an event everyone within range should experience. I especially like the caravan North through the streets of San Francisco, stopping at the Golden Gate Bridge picking up a few more Willys and photos of the bridges and Alcatraz Island (if the fog cooperates), then stopping in Petaluma to gather even more vintage Jeeps. Then finally cruising the back roads to the foremost Willys restoration shop on the West Coast. If you want to see one of the widest variety of Willys vehicles in one gathering, this is it!

I am the one who organizes and leads the event. We are looking forward to this years caravan.
Here is the plan for this year (same as the last 12, lol)
Itinerary:
8:15am Leave Trousdale Exit on North bound Highway 280. (This exit
is in Millbrae, meet on the East side parking area after the off ramp). The
exit is about 5 miles north of Hwy 92.
Follow 280 North to 19th Avenue through San Francisco to the Golden Gate Bridge (Hwy101).
Stop 2: 8:45 am – 9:15 am Golden Gate Bridge vista point. (Located on North East
side of bridge.) Great picture spot!!!
Continue Hwy 101 north to Petaluma Exit West on to Lakeville Road., Stop at McDonald’s at the shopping center on
Lakeville Rd.
Stop 3 10:00 am-10:20 am McDonald’s parking lot in Petaluma. (Exit west on
116/Lakeville St. and look for McDonald’s).
Continue on North 101 and exit at Hwy 116 West(Gravenstein Hwy towards Guerneville. Follow 116 through Forestville, Monte Rio and turn North onto the Cazadero Hwy. Follow Cazadero Hwy until you see Willys America, 6152 Cazadero Highway
