1952 Navy CJ-3A Redmond, OR **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3A This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: Price dropped to $3500

(05/31/2014) This has a Navy Plate. The jeep is listed as a 1952 CJ-3A, but the Navy plate is for a 1953 CJ-3A.

Desirable U.S. military, Navy issue. Solid investment. Original Willy’s Overland said to have been rebuilt by previous owner. New battery, 12 volt system, Runs quiet, doesn’t smoke, and not a leaker. All of the original brass/bronze tags and data plates still on the vehicle and they match with dash and under hood.
Loaded with options:
Original PTO winch with gear shift on the floor and data plate instructions. Hi-low Overdrive extra gear shift on the floor next to 3 speed and 4 wheel shifters, heater (not working), original gauges, original seats, dual jerry can/spare tire carrier, fold-out & fold-down windshield is really cool looking folded out. New leaf spring/shackle upgrade ($800 value), roll bar (not pictured). Great tow vehicle. No softop.

For years, I’ve looked high/low for one of these rare Navy’s with PTO and overdrive, so please accept it for $3,500 cash. I’ll keep it otherwise. Thanks

interesting to note the engine number on this CJ3A Navy Jeep is 146728 and the engine number in the CJ3A data plate that Marc found is 146721, only 7 engines apart. Can’t read the serial number on the one with engine # 146728, but the one on 146721 is 17707, so would guess they are at least that close as well?

Also interesting is the year of manufacture on both is 1953, both having a shipped date as 12-52. Both of these Jeeps are CJ3A civilian models purchased by the Navy. My personal CJ3A carries serial number 452 GB1 17966, but is titled as a 1953. I think this might put my Jeep in roughly the same manufacture date area as these two, probably Sept./Oct. 1952, since I have the 1952 prefix on the serial number.
