I love it. Very cool, indeed. What are the fans/coolers on the driver’s side? Air Conditioning of some kind or there was no room for the radiator to go in the front?

I want to see some videos of this beast running! Searched YouTube, but came up empty-handed. At the very least, it would give Jay more bids on eBay. I’d definitely bid even if $20k is out of my budget…

I am wondering if the origional frame was used and the motor, transmission and rear end were put on that or is that a completely different frame under the vehicle?

My truck sold today. On eBay for $20,111.11
It’s a great price for this truck.
The fleetvan has been purchased by the city of Carson city nevada. They will use it for there visitor center.
It’s been a fun project. Time to move on to the next build.
Thanks for all of help form the willys community especially Jesse Laberra
See you at the round up next year.

The fans on the side are oil coolers one for the transmission and one for the engine oil. Living in the desert it gets hot. I also have a double fan high boy radiator. Now it never gets hot. And it’s going to Lake Tahoe area.

I saw the note left by the Carson City rep and hoped that would work out. Glad to see it did.
    See you next year!

Absolute MAX Congrats Jay!! But I think you coulda gotten $30K if the buyer went for a test ride!! {reference my ride to dinner Fri night at the 11th Roundup, oh YEAH!!!!} mebbe $40K with a test DRIVE!! Do you s’pose Fleet Van delivery trucks can command that kind of price? {I don’t b’leve they are nearly as rare}. -and- my FJ-3A is “the Keeper” for me. But anyway, you hit a “home run” with the build; good for you!

As the lucky winner of Jays FJ3 I look forward to finishing this great project. We will put another 10 to 15 into a Nevada Battle Born paint theme, killer sound system,
LED screens will replace the back windows. It will be used to promote Carson City and Nevada’s 150th Birthday. Thank You for an unbelievable canvas to start with Jay.

Enjoy Jay’s FJ3! My wife and I got to see that van in March at the Phoenix FC-Roundup. On our month-long trip north from Phoenix to Washington State we stopped by Carson City’s Nevada State Museum. We enjoyed it quite a bit and suggested readers visit it as well (see this post about the museum http://www.ewillys.com/2014/04/26/april-25th-cold-rain/ ). We’ll make sure to see your Railroad Museum next time we are on our way through.

If I or we can be of any help, feel free to drop me a note here or via email d@ewillys.com.

I feel honored Willy will be a part of the 150th year celebration for the great state of Nevada. When I took willy out of the junkyard in Northern California just about 1 1/2 years ago, then puting my heart in to building Willy the best I can. I became attached to him letting him go is much like seeing one of my children go out into the word and be part of something much larger than my self. With tears in my eyes I am proud. Go forward and do that he does best. Bring smiles to those around him and create happiness.
