I’m a bit rusty (pun intended!) with my tub dating knowledge, but I thought that the bodies without the trailer receptacle were older than ’44. Yes? No?

That has all the signs of a MB/GPW body, so it could very well be a 1944. The rear bumper area has been modified quite a bit though.
