“Finally getting rid of my Jeep, “Willy”. I’ll probably regret this, but I’m fed up with it. More on that.

I’ve owned the Jeep 5 years as a farm vehicle; in those 4 years, I’ve put less than 3000 miles on it. The flatbed came about as a result of a rusted out body tub and my need to keep using it. It was installed winter 2012-13. Works great.

Up until October 2013, this Jeep ran like a top. Then one day when I was out of town, my dad used it and mysteriously dropped 2 cylinders in the motor. I’m 99% sure it’s ignition related, but I’m fed up with trying to fix it. I’m selling it as a non-runner, though the compression tests good.

Here’s the lowdown:
GOOD:
new fuel pump (July 2011)
rebuilt starter (January 2011)
new alternator (PO did a crappy 12v conversion but I had to put in a new alternator to get the battery to charge; September 2012)
rebuilt carb (motor ran GREAT after this July 2013)
new ignition coil (October 2013)
new plugs (January 2010)
custom flatbed (January 2013)
new master cylinder and new LF brake line (October 2011)
new rear leaf springs (April 2012)

BAD:
body is all rusted out
electrical system is shot (battery charges, horn and lights work, that’s about it)
now, not running
needs battery
rear U-joint chatters
lots of steering play
gauges don’t work

What you see is what you get with Willy. It ran great right up until it didn’t, the body is nasty, most of the electrical system needs redone. In other words, IT’S NOT SREET LEGAL. Would be a great farm truck when you get it to run. Otherwise, the frame, axles and drivetrain would be good to use on a restoration project. At the very least, it looks cool. I get a lot of comments on it from people who come to the farm.

It comes with a bikini top in ok shape, a full soft top in poor shape, and some other misc parts.

Cash only, no checks. I need a 4-barrel carb and an Oldsmobile 350 for another project, hose are the only things I’ll trade for.”

I had an uncle who built that kind of bed for his jeep in northern Minnesota: I always like it. For just $800 it seems worth taking a chance to get it running. I like the seller’s story, too.
