Interesting Jeep: Custom Flatfender JeepRod

This jeep isn’t for sale, but appeared in my Craigslist search (It’s the drift bike in front of it that is actually for sale). I thought the jeep was interesting enough to share.

I think the owner of the jeep is Rod, Brian’s brother that has the beautiful CJ3B, that lives here in the Vancouver, Washington area. I have seen it before and it is gorgeous.

Do drift bikes have brakes? Or is that what shoe soles are for?
Agree these two belong together: great looking pair… looks kinda like a Veep body, except for the oversized pipes coming out the front.

    Marty,

Yep, I thought you might recognize it as the ad was from your area. At first I thought it was some kind of VEEP, but the hood scoop and exhaust pipes suggested otherwise. Lots of great detail work. I think the hood has been shaved, maybe even the cowl? Those brothers do some nice work.

See, now if you’re going to build a jeep hot rod, that’s the way to have it look. Not those things where the front wheels are in front of the grill and such. That’s a great looking hot rod.

There used to be a kit to put side pipes on Beetles. (Anyone have a JC Whitney catalog from the mid 70’s laying around?)

This is the look I want for my ’55 jeep. Can anyone forward me a contact who I can ask a few questions?

That was Tom Solomon’s jeep years ago, I think he built it before his purple extended cab Willys P/U. I remember admiring it every year at the Moonshiners Swapmeet when I was a kid until Rod bought it. I’m building a 2wd ’47 2A right now and have been searching for pictures of this jeep to help with ideas for mine.

    Bill,

If you email Dave with your contact info I believe he can get Rod or Brian to call you if you would like to talk to them.

I know this is a super old post but I’m wondering if anyone knows if this one is still around? I’ve been around the Hotrod scene in north Oregon and SW Washington for several years now but I haven’t seen this at any of the shows I’ve attended.

    Thanks!
