Bill Dedo contacted me yesterday. He’s hoping to track down a 1949 CJ-3A of his that his mother sold years ago. He has learned it might be a restoration project in Alta, California. If you happened to have any leads, add a comment to this post.
Here are some photos:
Good luck on the search.
And is that fourth data plate on the dash?
Would be nice to know some more on the extra data plate ?
I’ve been down this road myself & one of the biggest obstacles is the DMV won’t give you any information on vehicle history unless you are the current owner. Bummer Man!!!
The hub caps are a riot!
Would help if he have the serial number. Did he check into the CJ3A page serial database?

Pascal: I sent him that link last night, along with a few others.
I don’t know, does somebody who wears short shorts deserve to have a Willys?
Buz- I’m with you….fashions come and go…but the iconic jeep is always in style! His mom should have sold the shorts and kept the jeep.

Now now … in California those were long shorts back in the day.
