Robin found a great short clip of the Willys Wagon that appears in the movie “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World“. I remember watching this movie as a kid, because it was one of my favorites. It’s a bunch of silliness.

My Dad had a wagon just like that at about the same time. I can remember driving home from camping as a kid, lying on a blanket on the floor and listening to the engine and drive train as I dozed. They overdubbed the sound of some one-lunger motor in the clip but you can still hear the characteristic Jeep engine and gear sound at times. Kinda hurts to see them wreck it.
Looks like it survived the accident pretty well. A very safe vehicle, all survived intact.
OMG…that is hilarious….
Thanks for posting…
I saw the last part of it a couple weeks ago but came in after the Jeep. Almost turned ti off for that reason. I’ve seen it about 5 times since the late 60’s.
Interesting how they re hinged the rear window so it was off the ground for the clip.
I hate when my friend see me cry at the sad part… :_(

It was a shame to see them wreck that good old Jeep. Terry Thomas, the split toothed driver and Uncle Milty, Milton Berle were great in slapstick comedy.
