UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $10,750
(10/21/2013) Glenn spotted this nice looking ‘lefty’.
“Sold by licensed RI dealer. Beautiful frame off, body off, nut and bolt restoration, many many new parts. Jeep shows to be in very much like new condition. Every system and component has been restored. Minor flaws only. Transmission will need attention however. Borg Warner T-90 gets stuck in second gear. Good opportunity for someone. Originally a Southwestern United States Jeep.”
I talked with this owner yesterday. It is a very nice Jeep, perhaps one of the best “Lefty” Jeeps, only needing transmission repair. Certainly couldn’t be restored for this money. He gave me the S/N to add to our “Lefty” List of Survivors and it falls about half way in the S/N range of 176,061 to 185,769 as listed in WO Service Bulletin #48-27 dated May 25, 1948. If you haven’t already read this discussion, go to THE CJ2A PAGE and find CALLNG ALL LEFTY’S. I need to organize my notes better, but I think we have only about 20+ or – known survivors at this time.
The location has changed. It was for sale out of Burillville, RI.
Thanks Sul.
The new ad description indicates the transmission has now been repaired which would make for a price change. The contact phone number is the same. Probably one of the best “Lefty’s” in existence.
Hi, I am the owner of this jeep. We did just put a rebuilt transmission in this jeep. The 2nd gear synchro had failed on the previous one, which was completely rebuilt also. Not sure why the synchro failed. Sale does include the original tranny, which besides the failed synchro is in like new condition. The price went up to reflect this change in the vehicle’s condition. It is is near new condition in every way. Also, Douglas, MA is right next door to Burrillville, RI, which is why I put that in the ad on the mass craigslist site. Otherwise someone would have flagged my ad because I am from RI. It not easy selling a beautiful Willys Jeep. Lotsa people talkin about it, not many stepping up to buy. : ) Kevin @ 401-651-1648 in RI
Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the updated info. Good luck on the sale,
