Leland spotted these early warn hubs are just up the road from me.
“Fourth in a lifetime opportunity to own the original Warn freewheeling hub. Removed from 1948 Jeep cj. Complete with inner sleeve, inner bearings all complete and not warn out. no holes or rust, light dings and scratches exceptional for sixty plus years”
I like how they not all “Warn” out!
It appears these were pre-lockout hub – looks like they were for city driving. You can’t lock them in and lock them out, when bolted on the jeep becomes permanently 2 wheel drive.
Bob, you should “Warn” us, about the “warn” out joke!
Very, very cool but I’m broke from Christmas!!!
Bill, you are correct. These were pretty simple hubs. These were referred to as summer hubs, designed for easy summer driving, to improve gas mileage and to reduce front end wear. In the winter, people swapped back on the 4wd hubs.
I’ll be darned if that ‘warn’t’ the funniest joke I’ve heard in a while.
do you think the seller will “Warn” tee them if they break?
