UPDATE: Still Available
(12/11/2013) The title is from Colorado.
“Check it out! This is a titled 1946 CJ2A SN#14264. Body in fair condition but will need some patching. This is a Colorado CJ, the steel is bent in places but hardly any rust – this is solid steel. The body is complete – tub, fenders, grill, hood, and windshield. Wheels, axles, steering intact, this thing rolls and steers. A previous owner added the rollbar and aftermarket seats, but this could be returned to original or customized. Has original motor and transmission. Vehicle started when I got it in January 2013.
I bought this vehicle for my own restoration but my project is headed in a different direction now. This is a great find for a restoration – why buy a flimsy repli-tub for $3500 when you can have a solid original for less?
Vehicle has a clear Colorado title.
Buyer must pick up. No delivery. Reasonable offers considered. Serious offers only. Reply to this post with a good e-mail address and phone number. I will send photos to serious buyers.”
Check out the roll bar mounted to the step. Odd…??
I would have thought this to be a VEC with such a low serial #, but I don’t see any indents. Any comments?
There seems to be several unusual things on this jeep. Tool indents would be on drivers side, I did not see any left side pictures. Drain hole is missing on right side, so most likely patched on both sides. It is hard to tell from picture, but it looks like it has square washers on windshield frame? The jeep has a M38 hinged grill installed, with some sort of civilian lights adapted to it. Ribbed cylinder head indicates probably not original engine. It seems like alot of work to relocate master cylinder and not go with a dual M/C. I am not picking on the jeep, just found these items interesting.
I forgot to mark that a VEC. Those washers look square to me as well. I don’t have exact max for VIN washers, but I read one reference of 17,000-18,000 which would be consistent.
It appears this has a floor shifter rather than the column shift.
I’ve seen a few rollcages mounted to the steps. There would be almost zero support. Maybe there’s a plate underneath. Given the high bend of the front loop, this was probably designed for a CJ-3B or a CJ-5.
Any chance of stopping by and see your CJ? Live in Apollo Beach.

appears to be missing the rear crossmember/bumper and the diagonal supports for it too…
