Too bad that he took only two photos, can’t see too much in them, for $5000. you’d think he could take a few more.
I wonder why they changed from slat grill design, was it for more protection or production costs?
Mark – I thought it was production costs. The slat grill was welded and what they ended up with was stamped. I’m no expert though.
Based on what I’ve read, foremost it was for standardization. Forced to choose between the two grilles, it mades sense to go withthe stamped grille, which must have been cheaper, lighter, and quicker to produce (maybe even stronger?).
Wish I had $5,000…… I would love to get a slat grill MB. 🙂
