Still Traveling

What, no updates yet? Yep. Add to that list, no showers, little sleep and no decent food since . . . well, I can’t really remember. My tooth brush is feeling hurt and ignored, wondering why I bothered bringing it along. The good news is that we should reach the Tacoma, WA, early this evening.

We are just passing through northern Cali right now (Corning, CA, to be specific). I will do updates as soon as (or if) the-power-that-be see fit to provide me with both a smooth road AND connectivity. It turns out the truck’s suspension is rough enough to make updates more of a challenge they normally are on the road.

Don’t let the palm trees i this photo from Barstow, CA, confuse you. It’s not much of a ‘vacation’. But, it is nice to spend some time with my sister.

lol….I’ve been out sick lately so not following your travels as closely but……as soon as I saw the horse trailer I said…. ” He must be with his sister “. Ha!

What! You were in Corning, and you didn’t even stop 45 miles later to say hello? What kind of sister do you have anyway. (lol) I would have taken you to the world renowned, Jack’s Steakhouse, rather than the truck stop in Corning (which actually has pretty good food.)

I know, I know. You were on a beeline for the critters. I’d rather you stop when Ann is with you on your way to the Roundup in March. I E-mailed you a photo of our palm trees covered in snow last Friday night. You wouldn’t see that in Barstow. I hope sis remembered that you can only tow at 55 mph in CA, unlike Washington.

Yep, a horse trailer with four horses. We left at 8pm pst and will arrive at 7pm (about an hour from now). Traffic and weather have been great, otherwise the trip would have been longer..

Steve: a few years ago my sis got a ticket for not going 55mph so she made sure to explain that law to me. That speed makes the trip thru Cali a long one!

A shower, brushing your teeth, and a bed…it is the simple pleasures we all love after 48 hours on the road. Oh yes, you did stop for a snooze of a couple of hours. This route ended up with no snow on the roads. The northern route (I-80) thru most of Wyoming was a little hellish so they were told.
