UPDATE: Todd had to cancel the sale. He will relist soon.
Only the lift is for sale.
“Very Rare Find! Up for sale is a complete, working Monroe Hydraulic System that was manufactured as an aftermarket item for Willys Jeeps in the 1950’s era. These hydraulic systems were made for Willys Jeep Models CJ-2A, CJ-3A, CJ-3B and CJ-5.
What makes this more interesting is that the unit comes with the original Maintenance and Mechanic’s Manual and the original purchase receipt from 1958, which totaled over $900.
As you can see int he pictures, this items has been outside and used for over 50 years, so there is surface rust covering most of the unit.
Although not pictured, there is also a counterweight for this unit that sits nicely in the front bumper area that comes with the unit. Also, the scoop appears to be manufactured by Ford. The “Ford” plate is attached to the scoop as seen in the pictures.
I am located in the San Francisco Bay Area and do not have the time to box the unit. Ideally, the unit would be picked up in the SF Bay Area. If not, I may be able to get the unit to a shipper for boxing and transport but only after discussing with the buyer.”
that is a Ford bucket – I have one for my tractor like it
It looks to me like he is selling the monroe, but not the cj5 it is attached to?
I think you are right and I should make the clearer.
Hi Folks:
That is correct – I’m selling the Monroe 3PT Hydraulic Lift, the Bucket, and the counterweight. I reduced the price on eBay to $99. As stated in the ad, I’m more interested in it not going to the scrap heap than making a buck. Thanks for posting!
Todd
Thanks for that update Todd. It sure looks in good shape.
Hey Todd, what happened? EBay has delisted the auction!
Hi Folks:
Unfortunately I’ve been called out of town for a couple of weeks so I had to cancel the eBay auction.
Upon my return I’ll re-list the item… if anyone would like me to notify them via this group, please let me know and I’ll be happy to do so.
Todd
Todd,
Feel free to email me directly (d@ewillys.com) or just comment in the post and I’ll update the post.
