No updates for Sunday. We toured the backroads of the Washington’s Palouse area on Saturday. On Sunday we’ll be heading up to Spokane. From there we haven’t decided where we are heading. So, no updates tonight or Sunday, but I’ll make sure there will be something for Monday.
On the jeep hunting front, we found and took pics of a great old fiberglass racer in parked in ‘downtown’ Benge, Washington.
Here’s a photo from Steptoe Butte State Park, a place that has a 360 degree view of Washington’s Palouse area. We just happened by the entrance; I’d never heard of the place. Here’s Ann, I and Zollie (short for Zoloft) looking north over the surrounding farmlands.
Glad to see you guys are doing well! Is Zollie a new addition? What flavor is she/he? I’ve not checked the site for several weeks as I’m {happily {mostly, ha-ha}} working 12 hrs/day, 6 days/week doing what I love; construction safety. It is a large job replacing an earthen levee that blew out 2 days after “500-year” rains hit the western Lake Superior area a year ago June. I’m down to 4 Jeeps now; I’ll be putting the ’57 FC-170 on the block right after my next rain day. {storage joint is open 8-4:30 M-F}. This is just a painful as selling my ’76 Shovel to finance going back to work a couple years back!! {$75.00/day gas + ’bout $80.00/day room x 2 weeks waiting {IMPATIENTLY} for the pay to arrive = hard times make for hard decisions, eh?}. I’m really to see “y’all” enjoying our endlessly BEAUTIFUL country!! Take care, Jeep Folks!
Boomer,
Zollie is short for “Zoloft” and is a service animal. Zollie came with Ann as part of the marriage vows. He often gets confused for a she. But then, he often gets confused for a dog. While a very bright dog (for example: he understands the command ‘duck and cover’) that oozes character, he’s afraid of his own shadow, hates wet grass, and barks when someone yells “Shakespeare”.
We take him on short trips, but find it better to leave him at home for the longer trips.

that is so,so cool!! Service Dogs are one of God’s greatest gifts!! My Brother Thuggy was continuously complimented as such a “pretty girl” & “cute puppy” when we cruised on the beach behind our cozy li’l shack. He WAS a boy until living at the shelter for a while; I rescued him & he repaid the favor daily for 14 years & 1 day. I carried him to the Rainbow bridge a couple months ago {15 yrs 4 mo} & have not had the “big boo-hoo” yet. All I can figure is that each time I think of him, {every day} my mind is flooded with fun, fun memories! He was the glue that held me together; {I may be loosely wrapped!} Emotions are a mystery, eh? Have fun on the road less traveled…
