This looks like a pretty rare hardtop. I don’t have time to locate it in my files tonight, but I’m sure I’ve posted something about it.

Acme hard top.
josh
good evening.
i am thinking about making a play on this one. is the acme hard top any good?
dave – it has a fiberglass body also – i don’t know anything about fiberglass bodys. are they desirable?
In my opinion the Acme hard top is a very nice top. I had one on my 80 cj5. They are fairly rare for the cj5. I’ve seen most on later cj5’s and I was a little surprised to see it on this 62. The one design flaw I would point out is that the door latch mechanism are zinc or some other material that corroded or broke easily. I think if you find a acme hard top you’ll be very hard pressed to find one with original working door latches and rigging up something to work is a little tricky because it was sort of a boxed latch design.
I like this one a lot… and that top rocks !!
If I was looking, this would definitely be on my Bucket List !
