This is not a 2A body tub. I don’t think so. The windshield is from a 3A or an M38. Maybe an M38 since there is no tailgate.

That does have a solid back. hmmm. I’d say it is a fiberglass tub, except that it has rust. I think you are right. It may be a 3A.

It definitely not an M38…. Neither the body nor the frame have M38 characteristics. The windshield is a 3A for sure, the M38 had a fixed bolted shut vent…the 3As were hinged like the one in the picture. The frame looks like a late 48 2Aor an early 3A…..its hard to see but telltale differences between 2A and 3A are engine mounts on 3A- driver side goes forward not rearward, frame was beefier and had no gussets for front bumper, and shock mounts were cupped and riveted to frame rather than flat and welded to frame.
Its obvious Bubba welded the solid panel in the back…its diamond plate or some other ribbed steel. M38 had tailgates, they were just bolted shut to accomodate gerry can holder and spare tire on rear versus 3A which had spare on passenger side.
This jeep is close to being a Franken Jeep!!
